ABSTRACT

In October 2020, I was privileged to interview Kristen Sexson, MD, PhD, MPH, an Associate Professor, Pediatric Cardiology, Texas Children's Hospital/ Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Sexson: MIS-C is multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children and occurs after COVID-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been reports from adults that COVID-19 infection causes inflammation in adults. From a cardiology standpoint, we monitor the heart including coronary artery sizes, heart function and strain, valve regurgitation, pericardial effusions, and any other abnormalities we may find.
